Senior Styling

Choosing what you will wear for your photo shoot is a huge decision that can make or break your senior portrait session! I know that sounds dramatic…but, if you accidentally wear something that isn’t flattering on camera or something that you don’t feel confident in…it can ruin the experience for you! So, here are some of the best ways to choose what to wear:

Be comfortable

This tip is so important. Be absolutely certain to try your outfit on and practice posing in it. During your session we will be walking, sitting on the ground, laying down and doing poses that may be awkward if your outfit is uncomfortable.

Colors & Texture

Have fun with color. Use colors that compliment your hair and skin tones! Avoid colors that wash out your features and instead select colors that make your skin look radiant  & eyes POP. Texture is a also such an easy way to elevate your styling. Think lace, sequins, cable knit, leather and faux fur.

Accessorize

Do NOT be afraid to add accessories to your outfit. Stacks of bangles, long necklaces, statement pieces, scarves, hats, bright shoes and other add-ons can take your session to the next level! Don’t be afraid to over-accesorize, either…it’s always better to have more than not enough! Consider adding a floral crown to your session. I adore these and work closely with a local florist to help design the perfect crown.
